On blogging...

"This is the personal and private property of Ruth V. It is where I pour out my private and most intense emotions... I hope you enjoy it."

Matt and I were talking about the ideosyncracies of blogging tonight... I hope no one ever thinks that this is indeed, an accurate reflection of my person. Why blog? I sometimes wonder the same :)

*laughing* Your sense of humor always makes me laugh.

Why blog? Good question. For me I blog for the fun of it. Its a good way to keep in contact with people and friends far away.

Hehehe!!!

Blogging is for all the |<()()|_ people. :-)

And yeah, it is a good way to keep in touch with people.

Don't tell me your giving it up Ruth!!

I sometimes feel alarmed too, least someone think my blog reflects all who I am. (yikes!)

Blog postings are merely feeble fragments of us at best.
I think we all realize that.

And it's been a rather healthy humbling experience to post things that are so available for everyone to read. :D

yeah! although I think IM has a greater propensity to replace personal interaction. There has been a couple times I was talking on msn and we started wondering why we didn't pick up the phone and talk...so we did.

Yeah, I agree... And nope, I'm not giving it up just yet :) Someone recently implied that my blog isn't entirely worthwhile. Sure, but it keeps those in touch, in touch, etc. :D For what it's worth.

Interesting take, Kristi! I'll have to consider the humbling part again...

Well whoever told you that your blog was worthless was wrong. I personally check or blog everyday. So it means something to me.

Not worthwhile? :-S

Oh man...they so don't know what they're talking about!

Loved the cartoon. I have to agree sometimes. I think there are times when we waste too much time e-mailing or IMing when we could just pick up the phone and say the same thing in half the time. Blogging on the other hand is different. With blogging one can keep up with little bits about people that I would not otherwise call or have much contact with. For me my blog is kind of a personal journal of sorts. I write more about my life and include much more about the total me than some others whos blogs i read on a regular basis. I am sure that is boring for some people. I have noticed that some people can blog and never really tell you what's happening with them or how they are. Comes down to personal style I guess. I enjoy bloging and I check them very frequently to see what's new.

Ha that is perfect! I love it...

Hey, but then there are those of us who can't talk on the phone very well... I mean it may not be the greatest thing, but I find that I can easily chat with someone compared to talking on the phone.

Maybe because I get so hyped that writing something out gives me time to reflect on it before I actually submit it.

And there are those of YOU who do not have highspeed and phone, and thus couldn't check email and talk on the phone at the same time.

I do, however, know that msning can sometimes be a bad thing. I've noticed that with some people I get soo used to msning that we run out of things to talk about, email about, or even just plain talk about. That's the saddest thing personally....

I like totally agree with you Aaron on everything you just said. Especially the part about thinking about what you write before you submit it. It gives you more time than if you were on the phone.

And I love the points Kristi made too.
