Here's the two minute update on the last four months in the VD home: we've moved! The fair town of Dundas is left behind, and the vine-filled, watery expanse of Vineland remains largely unexplored.
A few pictures of the "Twenty Mile Creek" will give you an idea of the scenery. (Out here, every stupid store, street and creek is named after a number!)
I haven't included pictures of the nearby LAKE :) :) That will definately be nice in the summer, when we can swim to our heart's content.
The house is nice (a wee bit too nice in Dad's opinion :) The only downside is my room, which has been systematicly vandalized by a small child and a crazy adult. LOL, maybe there really was a disturbed person... There will be again, if we don't do something about it :S
This is a familiar scene for anyone who's ever moved...
As is this :)
Matt has a few pictures up on his blog too.

The area looks gorgeous...can't wait to do some exploring with you! The house looks really nice too, both from ur pics and matt's...I can't wait to see it...speaking of which, i'm waiting for an invitation for my first visit, hint hint! give me a call soon...miss u lots and lots!
Yeah, about meeting up soon
--this is me going red with embarrassment at not having done so already--
About my schedule
--this is me throwing up my hands in despair--
Steffi! I hate this! Between exams and the trip to Washington... I'll call you soon, OK?
Wow, nice place!!
Ruth, the area looks fantastic! Just the kind of place that I could wander about in for hours and never tire of new discoveries. Your new house looks very homey and comfortable and it sounds like it's a nice fit for all of you. Looking forward to meeting you in person when you come to Washington. I have made Mark promise that I get to meet you this time so hopefully it happenes!
Ooh I would love to live there. I'm very much a outside person and your pictures look just wonderful. Can't wait to see you!!!
Haha, my friend Sammy was just standing beside me and asked, "Who is that girl? Is she a cowgirl? Does she have her own horse?" :P
Your house & area look really nice . . . although I'm a little sad that the Dundas days are over . . .
I hear you're switching countries with me at Christmas! Hope that maybe we'll bump into each other anyways!
*(Sam is seven and is currently dressing up as a pirate and getting fashion tips from me)
I do hope there is some exploring left if and when I make it there...
Wow--your new woods and streams looks enchanted. Quite something considering the season. :) Can't wait to see you my dear!
Yeah, don't explore everything all at once, drag it out to make it last as long as possible!
It's a beautiful place. Congratulations!
Ruth, I'm glad the move went well. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! I was going to write some comment on your brother's new blog, but I guess he decided to ban anonymous comments as well. And I have no intention of joining the blogging world, nor do I have a google account. Do you think it very charitable for him to inflict the same misery on others who are holding out, just because he felt forced to create a blog? :)

Amy, I’m definitely sad that the Dundas days are over -remember that last frolic through the gorge? And the following slink across town? :D Sammy sounds like a hoot –pirates are so cool :)
And don’t anyone fear, I won’t be a glutton of exploration. We’re leaving some “blank” spots on the map for specific persons to discover :)
super nice! totally have to come see it...And Wednesday won't work, b/c you and Matt are invited to our YP Christmas dinner at 6:30!!!
Hey Ruth!
Congrats on getting all moved in! It looks like a beautiful place - I love the pics of the surrounding area too... but that's the country girl in me :)
Come see me again sometime, okay? Drop by whenever you have a few hours in your already jam-packed schedule!
Have fun in the States!
God's blessings!
Only five more days!! Okay I'm getting as bad as Brandy now...
Good, I'm not the only one keeping count...it's just staying in my head though.
Irrelevant comment:
Love the name on your blog... longest word in the Oxford English Dictionary.
HOWEVER, Webster's 7th collegiate has them beat:
pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosises
Which means what?
The dictionary probably doesn't even know.
"Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosises n - a disease of the lungs caused by breathing extremely fine siliceous dust."
Nice find, but it's hardly applicable for my blog name :)
Well hey Ruth, : floccinaucinihilipilification isn't really applicable either eh.
